Celebration in a Time of Pandemic

Sister Rosemarie enjoying the music and the visit!

On September 8th, the feast of the Birthday of Mary, a group of Sisters from 62 Newton Street in Waltham MA walked next door to the Maristhill Nursing Home to serenade Sister Rosemarie Mailhot, a resident there, with a few special hymns to Our Lady in English, Samoan, and Spanish (Sr Rose Marie was missioned in Peru).

Most of us had not seen Rose Marie in the past 6 months because of the visiting restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She came out onto the front veranda of the Home, and we Sisters stood beyond the fence, well-masked, and kept our hymn-singing short (about 15 minutes). It was wonderful for us to see how well she looked and how delighted she was for this brief reunion with her Sisters.
