MARIST GATHERING - 2023 (LISBON, PORTUGAL)

June 28, 2023 Helen Muller

INTERNATIONAL GATHERING OF MARIST YOUTH AND WORLD YOUTH DAYS

Two important international gatherings of youth will take place in Portugal this year.

The International Gathering of Marist Youth (IGMY) will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from Tuesday 25th July to Sunday 30th July.

With the theme "Into the Deep", it will offer young people the opportunity to:

·        Embrace the precious gift that they are to God, to the Marist Family, to the Church and to the world.

•    Live an international and intercultural experience, guided by the Holy Spirit and the

      spirit of Mary.

•    Build on the experience which took place in Guatemala, 2019.

•    Offer an experience of Marist prayer, community, family, and mission.

•    Discover ways to deepen and live out their personal call to discipleship.

•    Begin to understand what it means to be a pilgrim amongst others.

SMSM sisters are accompanying a group of young people from various countries, and will participate with them in these two events. They will be accommodated by the Marist Brothers in their Colegio Marista de Carvcavelos in Lisbon.
