It is with sadness that I share with you the news of Sr. Jhorna Gomes who died peacefully on February 28, 2026, at Care Dimensions Hospice, Lincoln, MA.
Sr. Jhorna Gomes was born on August 19, 1968 in Tuital, Bangladesh.
She was professed as a Marist Missionary Sister on May 22, 1998 in New Zealand.
Sister was missioned to the United States in 2000 where she both studied and worked as a CNA in Massachusetts. She was missioned to Jamaica in 2005. In 2019, Sr. Jhorna returned to the United States receiving the diagnosis of Stage IV lung cancer. For the next 7 years, she accepted her physical journey with generosity and hope.
